Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

So I just got here and I don't know how to do a thing, but I'll figure it out over time.
I've been reluctant to join DA since I don't consider myself an artist.  I've been doing fractals for about 10 years and fractal flames for about 5 or 6, but almost all of what I create is very ordinary, run-of-the-mill kind of stuff.
However, I write scripts for the Apophysis program and DA appears to have become the main hub for the distribution of Apo resources.
My main project is the Apophymator script which allows Apo users to create the frames for interpolated animations.
Once I get my bearings I'll upload a new version of Apophymator here.
And if people try the script and find it difficult or just have general questions, maybe I'll be able help them more easily now that I've joined DA.

Well, so that's what I'm doing here mostly.
I think I'll see if I can sign out and sign back in again.
I wonder how bloated with cookies I've become.  As a rule I don't eat cookies.
But there are lots of cookie-pushers these days and they sneak them into yer system when yer not aware of it happening. :-/

Oh, umm... before I forget:  Thank you too, all of you whose images I've enjoyed while I've browsed around in former days.
I haven't really used very many Apo resources, however I do tend to look at the tutorials and learn from them.
So thanks to the folks who've provided those as well.

Haha... one more thing: I hate trying to think up a user name.
This one took me most of at least a month and I finally chose it only because google didn't turn up a single result for that phrase.  It sorta speaks to my main interest, sorta.
